MOD Pizza Raises $239,000 To Fight Childhood Hunger

Annual “Spreading MODness” Week Highlights Company’s Purpose Beyond Pizza

SEATTLE (January 8, 2019) – MOD Super Fast Pizza Holdings, LLC (“MOD Pizza”, “MOD” or the “Company”) and its franchisees today announced that its annual Spreading MODness Week raised $239,619 to help feed children struggling with food insecurity.  From November 18-22, 2019, a portion of sales from every pizza purchased was donated to charities fighting childhood hunger – an issue which touches a staggering one in five children nationwide.

The donation will provide support in the following ways:

  • MOD will fund five high-energy community meal-packing events in partnership with Generosity Feeds, a nonprofit committed to ending childhood hunger in the US. The events bring together hundreds of volunteers who pack tens of thousands of compact and nutritionally dense meals for local school backpack programs and food banks. To date, MOD has hosted over 75 meal-packing events and created more than one million meals.
  • Aid sixteen community food banks and feeding programs across the US, each working to end food insecurity in their communities.

“We have built MOD with the intention to positively impact as many lives as possible. In fact, we often say that pizza is just a front for our true purpose. MOD exists to serve people and our Spreading MODness week highlights one of the many ways we work to be of service,” said Ally Svenson, co-founder and chief purpose officer of MOD. “For our customers, it was simple – every pizza they enjoyed, helped to feed a child. This is the ripple of effect of Spreading MODness, and we’re grateful for everyone who helped to support this mission.”
