Local Franchise Group to Lead Brand’s Expansion Across Vancouver Island
SEATTLE (December 4, 2019) – MOD Super Fast Pizza Holdings, LLC (“MOD Pizza” or “MOD”) today announced the opening of its first store in Canada. Located in the newly developed Belmont Shopping Centre – 3022 Merchant Way in Langford – the store will open on Tuesday, December 10th at 11 a.m.
In celebration of the grand opening, 50-percent of all pizza sales on opening day will be donated to École Belmont Secondary School’s annual 10,000 Tonight Food Bank Drive, benefitting the CBC Food Bank. Special guest Santa Claus will visit from 4 pm – 7 pm. He’ll be taking selfies, and collecting donations of nonperishable food times for the food bank drive. Each person who donates nonperishables will receive a coupon for a free MOD-size pizza or salad.
The 2,500 sq. ft. Belmont location has seating for 105 customers and includes a large outside patio. It features the MOD Wall of Fame, a beautiful custom-made MOD badge inspired by the British Columbia flag, and cool MOD wall graphics throughout the store.
At MOD, individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of 30+ featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. The price always remains the same, regardless of the number of toppings. Pizzas are hand-cooked in just minutes and salads are hand-tossed for each customer. The menu is rounded out with the signature “MOD Cake”, handspun milkshakes, house-made lemonades and iced teas, and local craft beer and wine.
The store will be operated by MOD Pizza franchise partner, V.I. Pizza, LLC, led by Jim Hayden and Ken Whitaker, who operate several successful brands across Vancouver Island. This will be the first of several MOD locations that the group plans to open across Vancouver Island in the coming years.
